This Privacy Policy explains what information BytebaseX (bytebasex.com) collects from visitors, how it's used, and what choices you have. By using this website, you agree to the practices described below.
Information We Collect
BytebaseX does not require account registration, sign-up, or login to read anything on this site. We only ever receive information from you through two channels, and only when you choose to use them:
- Comments: This blog uses Blogger's built-in comment system, and anonymous commenting is turned on, so you can leave a comment without signing in or sharing your name, email, or any personal detail. The comment system itself is operated by Google as part of the Blogger platform, so any technical data it processes in the background, such as for spam prevention, is handled under Google's own Privacy Policy, separate from what BytebaseX can see or control. On our end, we only see the comment text and the display name you choose to use, if any.
- Contact Form: Our Contact page uses Blogger's contact form feature. When you submit it, the name, email address, and message you enter are sent directly to our inbox through Blogger's own email system. We use this information only to read and reply to your message. It is not added to any mailing list, database, or third-party tool, and it is deleted once your query has been resolved and is no longer needed.
Outside of these two channels, and without your direct action, BytebaseX does not collect any personal information from its visitors.
Cookies
BytebaseX uses cookies for the purposes described in this policy, including basic site functionality, analytics, and (once enabled) advertising. When you first visit the site, a cookie consent notice lets you know cookies are in use. Beyond acknowledging that notice, no further action is required to browse the site, but you're always free to control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, though doing so may affect how some parts of this site function, such as remembering your consent choice.
Google Services
Like most websites, BytebaseX runs on a few Google services to operate and improve the blog:
- Google Analytics is currently active on this site and helps us understand how visitors use it, such as which pages are popular and how people generally find us. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you.
- Google Search Console helps us monitor how the site performs in Google Search. It's a tool for site owners and does not collect personal information from visitors.
- Google AdSense: BytebaseX intends to display ads through Google AdSense to help support the cost of running this blog. Once active, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet, and may also use non-personalized ads where required by applicable law. You can review and manage how this affects you through Google's Ads Settings, and you can opt out of interest-based advertising from other participating companies through aboutads.info.
Because BytebaseX is hosted on Blogger, a Google product, the platform itself may also use its own cookies for basic functionality and security. Children's Privacy
BytebaseX is a general technology blog and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has shared personal information with us through our Contact Form, please get in touch and we'll delete it.
Data Retention
Personal information submitted through our Contact Form is kept only briefly, for as long as needed to respond to your message, and is deleted once that's done. We don't maintain any visitor database. Aggregated analytics data collected through Google Analytics is retained according to Google's own retention settings, and it is not used by us to identify individual visitors.
Your Data Protection Rights
Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California may give you rights like requesting access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, as well as the right to withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time. Since BytebaseX doesn't retain personal information beyond briefly handling a Contact Form message, there is generally nothing on file to request. If you'd still like to ask how a message was handled, or want it deleted sooner, just reach out through our Contact page.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated occasionally to reflect changes in how the blog operates, such as when advertising is enabled, or to stay aligned with legal requirements. Updates will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date, so it's worth checking back once in a while.
